Hideaways Mankwe Tented Retreat is located on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta, a renowned World Heritage Site in Botswana. The border of the Moremi Game Reserve lies a stone’s throw to the west of Mankwe, while Chobe National Park is slightly north, and Maun is only two hours south, by road.
The lodge is nestled in a prime location in its own 300 000 hectares concession, shared with sister lodge, Tuskers Safari Camp. This is a prestigious territory in the wild wonderland of Botswana, where the lack of fences allows for free-roaming wildlife, resident lions, an abundance of elephants, and incomprehensible room to explore.
Please note that Mankwe is unfenced and wild animals do wander through camp at times. Children are to be supervised at all times. Animal feeding is not allowed.

- Conditions: BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS:* Rates are per person sharing per night, and inclusive of 12% Botswana VAT and dinner, bed, lunch and breakfast.* 50% single supplement applies at Mankwe Tented Retreat in High Season.* Accommodation is based on King beds/Twin beds, each with en-suite/private bathroom facilities as described. *Rates to Include: All meals, local soft and local alcoholic beverages, teas & coffees, taxes at the camp.* Rates Include BWP10 per person per night Government bed levy.*Rates to exclude: All Premium alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. All items of a personal nature, Moremi Park fees if self-driving (payable in cash at the gate), curio shop purchases. There are cash bars at the camps, and any item not described above* All guests are required to sign an indemnity at check-in, or at the start of a tour or activity.* Rates are subject to increases should the VAT or Government taxes increase.* Cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in. * Credit card used for the online payment must be present at check-in.* We reserve the right to not refund bank costs upon cancellation for credit card bookings, as the bank does not credit initial deduction costs. IMPORTANT: We require a minimum of 4 persons to confirm a road transfer or Moremi game drive. However, these are not private services, and other guests may join your guests on a transfer or activity. CHILD POLICY - ON REQUEST ONLY* Children of all ages are welcome at Mankwe Tented Retreat. * Children 0 - 2yrs: Free of Charge.* Children 2 - 12 years at Mankwe pay the child rate. Child rate is 50% of adult rate.* If there are 2 parents and 3 children under 12 years, please cost 2 adults and 3 children. We will allocate 2 tents.* Children sharing with parents will be provided with stretcher beds if only child is booked. * No baby sitting services offered at camps. *Camp is not fenced, wild animals can roam freely throughout the camp.

The Mankwe campsites in the NG43 concession area are ideally situated for the well-equipped 4x4 enthusiast and campers. From the campsites, the Moremi Game Reserve and Savuti area of the Chobe National Park can be visited for day trips. The campsites are also in reach of the game-rich Khwai River area (about 25 km away) that can be explored without cost for a day. Activities at the camp (Prior booking required) include morning and afternoon game drives, as well as after-dark spotlight game drives, in our own concession, and into Moremi or Savuti, never forgetting our drives to awesome pans deep into the concession. Guided safari walks can be arranged. For those wanting to relax, we have a very comfortable lounge for one just to stare over the valley. Mankwe accepts all children and must be under the care of their parents at all times.
Policies
- If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total. If cancelling 45 days before arrival, forfeit 70% of the booking total. If cancelling 90 days before arrival, forfeit 30% of the booking total.

Very friendly reception and staff , and very good value for money. Perfect as a stopover from/to Moremi and Khwai. There is also a pool for campers.
