Each of the 10 rooms offers unique views of the mountains, dam, watering hole, and Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve. So spacious and unique, the en-suite accommodation has a variety of settings and features designed with comfort and good taste in mind at this South African safari lodge.
Guests here can look forward to romantic four-poster beds with elegant net drapes, wooden floors, opulent sofas, solid furnishings and in most cases cosy fireplaces. The lodge has been fully renovated and some suites reflect an unusual design style by combining luxurious en-suite showers and baths, with sleeping or living areas in an open-plan feel.
All suites look out over different aspects of the waterhole and grounds and have shady verandas; some have magnificent elevated views of the rolling countryside from large picture windows in the bathroom areas and bedroom.
Belle Balance Bush Hideout has a lovely plunge pool, big outdoor swimming pool with lounges, comfortable sofas and chairs on the veranda, an attractive lounge and beautiful farmhouse dining room, there are fireplaces everywhere to ensure a cozy environment where guests can sink into a plush chair and relax.

Just 15 minutes drive from Plettenberg Bay and guests can be viewing big game or settling into their wonderful malaria free accommodation. There are 2 000 hectares of indigenous bushveld here where a large variety of wildlife live in peace.
Guests can fly directly into Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route, South Africa from the gateway cities of the country and in a few minutes find themselves enjoying a refreshing drink before exploring the reserve in custom built open vehicles , this is the largest reserve in the southern Cape.
All the game rangers at Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve are professional, experienced and friendly, happy to share their knowledge out on the reserve, over a drink in the bar, or while they prepare a delicious barbeque next to the fireplace.
The reserve has 4 of the Big Five game, Elephant, Lion, Rhino and Buffalo, the resident leopard is not often seen – all this amongst a host of plains game including Wildebeest, Giraffe, Eland, Kudu, Zebra and a wide variety of antelope species, also Hippo and Crocodile. There are many smaller animals too such as the Honeybadger and many bird species.

The Forest Trail at Belle Balance - This is one of the newest and most exciting walks on the Garden Route and offers majestic views of the Keurbooms River, its tributary the Palmiet River and the Tsitsikamma mountains and has recently been completed. The Forest Trail starts at the watering hole at Belle Balance, which is located inside the Plett Nature Reserve and winds down the mountain into the valley. The bottom of the valley has rock pools that make for a beautiful, secluded and much-needed shady rest stop after the first descent. The walk then goes through the indigenous forest up the next hill. The top part of the walk winds around a hill in a loop where the cries of fish eagles can be heard in the distance. Walking decks have been put in place where the going gets tough to make the walk easier. This is a 6km intermediate guided walk, which takes about 2 hours to complete and costs R100 per person. The Boma at Belle Balance is the perfect spot to sit back and relax after completing the Forest Trail. Booking for the Forest Trail must be made in advance and is open to guests and visitors.
