The Map Room at Aloe Corner
The Map Room is located in one of the oldest and grandest streets; the last to remain un-tarred in the village, retaining its “agricultural” feel, where tractors still ply the track.
The Map Room is modern and romantic. The beautiful ensuite bedrooms are downstairs and the living area is accessed up a spiral staircase providing views of the vineyards and the towering mountains. This unit sleeps four but is regrettably not suitable for children under 12.
Living Quarters At Raised Ground-Level
A gargantuan master bedroom with inbuilt sultan’s bath leading into a en-suite ‘wet room’ with shower, loo and basin. There is a ceiling fan above the bed and heating panels on the walls. Second en-suite bedroom can be made up into a twin or a king size bed.
The watering hole, grazing area and place to kick off your thousand-milers. Expansive open-plan and double-volume kitchen/living room and dining area with a log fireplace. Flat-screen TV with NETFLIX, DVD and classic movie selection. Perfect for unwinding after a long attack at the local vineyards, or a gorging meal at one of Franschhoek’s many restaurants.
Six folding glass doors open onto the deck with barbecue, table and chairs, looking out across the vineyards and mountains.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and the Map Room has a fast Wi-Fi connection for those who want time to research their next expedition into the wild blue yonder.

Franschhoek is a burgh in South Africa´s Western Cape with centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch ecclesiology. This small village nests at the bottom of a fertile valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by green hills and endless stern of grapevines. The village has an absorbing French past with magnificent wine possession and small French bakeries.
Although Franschhoek is small, it is huge on the culinary scene. The quint main road is lined with boutique and artisan restaurants that have been richly decorated with all kinds of awards. The village is rich in French history (Franschhoek means "French Corner" in Dutch).
Franschhoek offers over 25 major wine estates in the area surrounding the quint village, including some of South Africa’s most respected names in wine making. The valley is small and easy to explore, suffice to say you will not be short of options!
From walking the village, cycle or jumping on the Wine Tram, there is something for all to do during your stay.
Franschhoek will pretty soon be a special place close to your heart.
