Property description

Mont Rouge is a jewel of nature and we will be privileged to share this beauty with you, our guests!
120 km out of Cape Town lies the historic town of Tulbagh with its rich Cape Dutch heritage.

Mont Rouge is a working fruit farm nestled between the towering Winterhoek Mountains situated 12 km north of Tulbagh.

This family farm has been in the ownership of the Du Plessis family for three generations.. We wish to entertain you with our relaxed Afrikaans farmer hospitality (and don’t forget the food!).

Mont Rouge is cultivated with 45 hectares of fruit orchards. We produce fresh fruit for the local and export market. Produce includes peaches, nectarines, plums, apples, pears, tomatoes, oranges and soft citrus. The fruit are hand picked and then sorted in the packing shed on the farm from where it is shipped to the different markets. The farm management team consists of father and two sons who are supported by 50 employees. Their lovely wives will be tending to you, our guests.

All trees except the citrus are deciduous , so they lose their leaves in winter after colorful autumn.s The spring brings beautiful blossoms, fruit in summer or snow on the mountain peaks; there is always a difference in scenery with the changing seasons.
Our self-catering riverside cottages are affordable and spacious and fully equipped. The tranquility and beauty in and around the cottages will guarantee an unforgettable stay. The Cottages are practically designed and tastefully decorated.
